MAINSTAGE MATINÉE: Hockey Day in Canada!
September 27, 2008 { 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm}
In Canada, hockey is in our blood—and this afternoon’s writers embrace that with wildly diverse celebrations of the game. Cara Hedley’s new novel takes us on and off the ice with a university women’s hockey team. Paul Quarrington’s King Leary is an aging “contender.” Lorna Jackson invents interviews with some of the big hitters, and Randall Maggs creates the quintessential portrait of legendary Winnipeg goalie, Terry Sawchuk. All we need is a theme song!
