Anakana Schofield

Anakana Schofield has a background in theatre and film, working in both fields in Ireland before moving to Canada. She writes fiction, essays, and literary criticism, and her writing appears in the London Review of Books, The Recorder: The Journal of the American Irish Historical Society, The Globe and Mail, and the Vancouver Sun. She has performed her own one-woman play, Je ne parle pas Français, and continues to be involved in performance art collaborations. Her debut novel, Malarky (biblioasis), a fresh and original portrait of rural Irish life, is getting raves from reviewers and readers alike. Schofield now calls Vancouver BC her home.
