Bonnie Burnard

Bonnie Burnard won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book with her short story collection, Women of Influence. Her second collection, Casino & Other Stories, was nominated for a Giller Prize and was awarded the Saskatchewan Best Book of the Year Award. She was recognized with the 1996 Marian Engel Award honouring a mid-career woman writer, and three years later won the Giller Prize for her first novel, A Good House. Her new novel, Suddenly, a sensitive portrait of mature friendships, is being published this fall by HarperCollins. Burnard lives in London ON.
