Brenda Hasiuk

Brenda Hasiuk lives in Winnipeg, where she is on the board of Rossbrook House, an inner-city drop-in center for at-risk youth, and heads up Project Reunite, a grassroots group working to support, settle, and reunite Syrian refugee families. Her short fiction has been published in several literary journals, as well as in the collection Boy Lost in Wild. Her first novel, Where the Rocks Say Your Name, was shortlisted for the McNally Robinson Book of the Year and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. Her new YA novel book, Swan Dive (Groundwood), features a young Bosnian refugee searching for friendship and a sense of belonging in his new Winnipeg home.
