Christian Bök

Christian Bök is the author of Cystallography, a ’pataphysical encyclopedia nominated for the Gerald Lampert Award for Best Poetic Debut, and ’Pataphysics: The Poetics of an Imaginary Science. He has created artificial languages for Gene Roddenbery’s Earth: Final Conflict and Peter Benchley’s Amazon, and his conceptual artwork has been exhibited in New York City. He is best known for Eunoia, a virtuosic exploration of vowels, which won the 2002 Griffin Poetry Prize. It is the best-selling Canadian poetry book of all time and is being re-released by Coach House this fall. Bök teaches at the University of Calgary.
