David Alexander Robertson

David Alexander Robertson wrote his first book, "The Bestest Poems I ever Sawed," in grade 3. As he got older, he realized that education could combat the racism and sexism that plagues so many communities, and that inspired him to create The Life of Helen Betty Osborne, a graphic novel that exposes a tragic chapter in Manitoba's recent history. Since then he has been at work on 7 Generations (Portage & Main Press), a four-book graphic novel exploring Aboriginal history. A recent writer-in-residence at Aqua Books, Robertson lives in Winnipeg, and works in the field of aboriginal employment.
