David Bergen

David Bergen’s 2006 novel, The Time in Between, won the Scotiabank Giller Prize, the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award, and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. It was also named a Kiriyama Prize Notable Book and longlisted for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. His previous titles—a short fiction collection Sitting Opposite My Brother, and three novels, A Year of Lesser, See the Child, and The Case of Lena S.—also generated several awards and nominations, and were acclaimed by both readers and critics. The Retreat, his highly-anticipated new novel, has recently been published by McClelland & Stewart. Bergen lives in Winnipeg.
