David Bergen is one of Canada’s most celebrated fiction writers. He was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award for The Case of Lena S, and the Scotiabank Giller Prize for The Matter with Morris. The Time in Between won the Giller. The Matter with Morris won the Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award and the Margaret Laurence Award, and was also shortlisted for the prestigious Dublin-IMPAC Award. His new novel, The Age of Hope (HarperCollins), is a frank and tender portrait of an ordinary woman. A recent winner of the Writers’ Trust Award for an author in mid-career, Bergen lives in Winnipeg.
