David Carpenter

David Carpenter is a prolific writer of both fiction and non-fiction. His many titles include Courting Saskatchewan, a collection of personal essays which won the Saskatchewan Book Award for non-fiction; Banjo Lessons, winner of the City of Edmonton Book Prize; and The Ketzer, which won Descant’s Canadian National Novella Contest. In 2009, Porcupine’s Quill published Welcome to Canada, a collection of novellas which was recognized with an IPPY gold medal for Canada-West Best Regional Fiction. A Hunter’s Confession (Greystone Books, 2010) is a personal exploration of the complex dimensions of a changing North American pastime. Carpenter lives in Saskatoon.
