Diane Schoemperlen

Diane Schoemperlen has published several collections of short fiction and three novels, In the Language of Love, Our Lady of the Lost and Found, and At A Loss For Words. Her 1990 collection, The Man of My Dreams, was shortlisted for both the Governor-General’s Award and the Trillium. In 1998, Forms of Devotion: Stories and Pictures won the Governor-General’s Award. Her new collection, By the Book: Stories and Pictures (biblioasis), showcases Schoemperlen’s irreverent brand of nostalgia. These verbal and visual collages use vintage kitsch to create comic, creepy, unexpectedly moving tales. In 2008, Schoemperlen received the Marian Engel Award for her body of work. She lives in Kingston ON.
