Dimitri Nasrallah

Dimitri Nasrallah was born in Lebanon during the civil war, and spent much of his childhood in exile before arriving in Canada. That history forms the backdrop of his new novel, Niko (Esplanade/Véhicule), a probing exploration of the confusion and alienation that accompany people escaping from war. Nasrallah has already grabbed the attention of critics. His debut, Blackbodying, won the McAuslan First Book Award as was shortlisted for the Grand Prix du Livre de Montreal, and "The Forested Knolls of Elbasan" won the CBC Quebec Short Story Competition before that. Also a music journalist and critic, Nasrallah lives in Montreal.
