Eleanor Catton

Eleanor Catton was born in 1985 in London, Ontario, and raised in New Zealand. She is the author of two internationally celebrated novels: The Rehearsal, winner of the Amazon.ca First Novel Award, the Betty Trask Award, and the NZ Society of Authors’ Best First Book Award, and a finalist for the Guardian First Book Award, the Prix Femina, and the Dylan Thomas Writers Prize; and The Luminaries, winner of the 2013 Man Booker Prize and the Governor General’s Award for Fiction. Catton holds an MFA from the prestigious Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
