Eric McCormack

Eric McCormack grew up just outside Glasgow, Scotland, did graduate work in Winnipeg, then had a long career teaching at the University of Waterloo. He has published novels and short stories, including Inspecting the Vaults and The Dutch Wife, all of which mix the absurd and the existential with crime and gothic elements. Nominated for the Governor General’s Award, the Commonwealth Writers Prize, and the People’s Prize for Fiction, McCormack has been lauded by the New York Times Book Review as “a master stylist.” His new novel, Cloud (Penguin), tracks love and betrayal from steamy Mexico to chilly Scotland, with a healthy dose of creeping dread. McCormack lives in Kingston ON.
