George Murray

George Murray has published poetry, a children’s book, and a bestselling book of aphorisms. His latest collection, Diversions (ECW), is alternately dark and hilarious, straddling the line between aphorism and poetry, and creating an atmospheric narrative through connections that form between seemingly unassociated lines. His first book for children, Wow Wow and Haw Haw (Breakwater) was published in the spring of 2014. He is a former poetry editor for The Literary Review of Canada and regularly reviews poetry and fiction for The Globe and Mail. He has lived in St. John’s, Newfoundland, since 2006 and was made the poet laureate there in 2014.
