Joe McLellan

Joe McLellan is a Métis writer and storyteller who has traveled across North America story-telling and facilitating workshops for students and teachers. He has written many books, including several with his wife Matrine, an Ojibway Cree. Among his titles are several Nanabosho stories—Nanabosho and the Cranberries, Nanabosho Steals Fire, Nanabosho Grants a Wish, among others—which introduce young readers to an Anishinaabe trickster-teacher figure, and pass along stories that have been part of an oral tradition. His newest title, also published by Pemmican, is Goose Girl, co-written with Matrine. Joe McLellan lives in Winnipeg.
