Kateri Akiwenzie-Damm

Kateri Akiwenzie-Damm is an Anishnaabe writer, collaborator, publisher, Indigenous arts advocate, and communications consultant from the Chippewas of Nawash First Nation. She has two collections to her credit, my heart is a stray bullet and bloodriver woman, as well as a spoken word CD, standing ground. She has published and performed in Canada, the US, Aotearoa/New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. In the past three years, she has been featured in the television series, “Heart of a Poet,” and the documentary, “Words from the Edge.” Kateri compiled and edited Without Reservation (Kegedonce, 2003), an anthology of Indigenous erotica released in Canada and Aotearoa. She lives in Cape Croker, Ontario.
