Larry Krotz

Larry Krotz is an award-winning writer, journalist, and documentary filmmaker. He has written several books, including Shutter Speed, Tourists, and Midlifeman, and has several National Magazine Award nominations and an Air Canada Award to his credit. Over the past 25 years he has traveled widely in Africa, where he produced the documentary film, Searching for Hawa’s Secret, and wrote extensively for magazines and newspapers on scientific research and foreign aid projects. His new book, The Uncertain Business of Doing Good: Outsiders in Africa (University of Manitoba Press), draws out the complexities of that African experience. Larry Krotz lived much of his adult life in Winnipeg, and now calls Toronto home.
