Larry Verstraete

Larry Verstraete grew up in the French Quarter of Winnipeg, a stone's throw from the Golden Boy. A former teacher, he now spends his time writing, visiting young readers, and presenting at conferences and festivals. Larry has written many lively informational books for young readers, including books on science, buried treasure, and heroic survivors. He also has two charming alphabet books, both packed with information - G is for Goldenboy: A Manitoba Alphabet, and his most recent S is for Scientists: A Discovery Alphabet (Sleeping Bear Press), which was named an Outstanding Science Trade Books for Students K-12 by NSTA and the Children's Book Council.
