Larry Verstraete

Larry Verstraete is a former elementary school teacher and university instructor who has written for science textbooks and educational journals, and conducted science and writing workshops around the country. He is an award-winning author of sixteen books for young people, including Accidental Discoveries: From Laughing Gas to Dynamite, S Is for Scientists, Life or Death: Surviving the Impossible, and Dinosaurs of the Deep. His latest book is Coop the Great (Great Plains), a funny and inspiring story about love, loyalty, and loss told by an aging, cynical, down-and-out dachshund, jaded by life and reaching for greatness. Verstraete lives in Winnipeg.
