Marsha Skrypuch

Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch has received numerous awards and honours for her children’s books, including two nominations for the Canadian Library Association Children’s Book of the Year. She has written a series of historical novels set in Ukraine during World War II. In Making Bombs for Hitler, we meet Lida, a girl whose small hands are perfect for assembling weapons to be used against her own people. In the newest, Underground Soldier (Scholastic), one of Lida’s compatriots joins the resistance. Young adult readers have responded enthusiastically: Making Bombs for Hitler is this year’s winner of the Manitoba Young People’s Choice Award. Skrypuch lives in Brantford ON.
