Patrick Ryan

Patrick Ryan is an internationally-recognized storyteller who has told stories, led story-telling and creative writing workshops, and delivered lectures about the art of story-telling all over the world. Ryan has gathered and retold folk tales and myths from many cultures. He's also interested in Shakespeare's story base. He tells both the stories within and the stories behind the plays, and has published a children's collection, Shakespeare's Storybook (Barefoot Books). Currently a research fellow at the University of Glamorgan in Wales, he will be in Winnipeg this fall as the Storyteller-in-Residence at the University of Manitoba's Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture.
