Randall Maggs

Randall Maggs has published two collections of poetry and two anthologies pairing Newfoundland and Canadian poems with those of Ireland. His 2008 collection, Night Work: The Sawchuk Poems (Brick Books), follows the tragic life and work of Terry Sawchuk, a troubled genius of a goalie who grew up in Winnipeg and survived twenty tough seasons of professional play. Globe & Mail columnist Stephen Brunt calls Night Work “the truest hockey book ever written.” Randall Maggs is artistic director of Newfoundland’s March Hare festival of music and literature, and teaches literature at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College at Memorial University in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
