Shane Koyczan

Shane Koyczan is a writer and multimedia spoken word artist. He was part of the Opening Ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and in 2013, he collaborated with animators to make the anti-bullying viral video “To This Day” which has had over 23 million views. He has won both the US Slam Poetry Championship and the Canadian Spoken Word Olympics and has performed around the world. He has also published several books: the most recent being Inconvenient Skin (Theytus), and The Basement in My Attic (Stickboy Press). Born in Yellowknife, and raised in Penticton, BC, he lives in Vancouver.
