Struan Sinclair

Struan Sinclair caught the attention of readers and critics with his short story collection, Everything Breathed, which was published in North America and the UK by Granta Books. He has won the 2001 New London Writer’s Award for fiction and was the 2002-03 writing fellow in Orkney, Scotland. This year, Doubleday published his debut novel, Automatic World, to critical raves. The book is an elegant exploration of four lives woven together by a teller whose consciousness is stuck in the present tense. Originally from Toronto, Sinclair now lives in Winnipeg, where he is the director of the Department of English Media Lab and Writing Program/Focus at the University of Manitoba.
