Susin Nielsen
Screen-writer Susin Nielsen penned sixteen episodes of Degrassi Junior High, and four of the books in the Degrassi series. She has won a Gemini and two Canadian Screenwriter awards, and written and story-edited many TV series, including Ready or Not, Madison, The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, and Edgemont, and two animated series, What About Mimi and Braceface. She also adapted Susan Juby’s Alice, I Think for television. Nielsen has published three children’s books, including Hank and Fergus, winner of the Mr. Christie’s Silver Medal Award. In her new novel, Word Nerd (Tundra), she brings her wit and insight to the YA fiction field. Susin Nielsen lives in Vancouver BC.
