CJ Taylor

Carrie-Jo Taylor is an internationally-acclaimed artist as well as a children’s author-illustrator. Her work explores her own Mohawk heritage but ranges through the traditional stories of many First Nations peoples. A self-taught painter, she has organized exhibitions of Native art across North America, and her own paintings are in many private collections in Canada and the US. Her strikingly-illustrated books include Peace Walker, Bones in the Basket, The Monster from the Swamp, and All the Stars in the Sky. Her most recent publication is Spirits, Fairies, and Merpeople (Tundra). Taylor grew up in a small Quebec community, and lives now on Vancouver Island.
