Guy Maddin

Guy Maddin has gained an international reputation as an audacious and inventive film-maker with titles like Tales from the Gimli Hospital, The Saddest Music in the World, and Brand upon the Brain! His book, From the Atelier Tovar: Selected Writings, introduced film buffs to an equally distinctive writing voice. His new book, My Winnipeg (Coach House), a visual and textual adventure, extends the reach of his recent award-winning film with anecdotes, digressions, outtakes, family photos, emails, essays, notebook pages, and collages. Maddin lives in Winnipeg, and is the Distinguished Filmmaker-in-Residence at the University of Manitoba.
