Jay MillAr

Jay MillAr is the shadowy figure behind BookThug, an independent publishing house dedicated to exploratory work by North American writers, as well as Apollinaire’s Bookshoppe, a virtual bookstore that specializes in the books that no one wants to buy. He is also an accomplished writer. His chapbooks include Woods|Pages and Lack Lyrics, which tied to win the 2008 bpNichol Chapbook Award. His full-length poetry collections include the small blue, False Maps for Other Creatures, Other Poems, and The Ghosts of Jay MillAr. His new collection, Timely Irreverence (Nightwood), is a deeply philosophical investigation of work, love, and family. MillAr teaches creative writing and poetics in Toronto.
