Lawrence Scanlan

Lawrence Scanlan has been a respected journalist for almost four decades, with numerous prizes to his credit, including three National Magazine Awards. He also writes fiction, and has published fifteen books on subjects ranging from horses to hockey to home. One, The Man Who Listens to Horses, co-authored with Monty Roberts, remained on North American bestseller lists for more than a year and sold in excess of a million copies. His newest book, A Year of Living Generously: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Philanthropy (Douglas &McIntyre), charts his life-altering experiences volunteering with twelve different charities. Scanlan lives in Kingston.
