Marilyn Dumont

Marilyn Dumont’s first collection, A Really Good Brown Girl, won the 1997 Gerald Lampert Memorial Award and is now in its tenth printing. Her second collection, green girl dreams Mountains, won the 2001 Stephan G. Stephansson Award. Dumont has been a Writer-in-Residence at several universities and a mentor for the Wired Writing Program at the Banff Centre for the Arts, and teaches creative writing through Athabasca University. She recently published her third collection, that tongued belonging (Kegedonce), and continues to work on a manuscript exploring Métis history, politics and identity through her ancestral figure, Gabriel Dumont. Marilyn Dumont lives in Edmonton AB.
