Priscila Uppal

Priscila Uppal is a poet, novelist, and academic. She has published five collections of poetry, including Pretending to Die and Ontological Necessities, which was nominated for the Griffin Poetry Prize in 2007. Her novel, The Divine Economy of Salvation, had an international reception. Her work has appeared in seven languages, and she was named “Canadian Writer to Watch” by the American Library Association. In 2009, she releases two new titles: We Are What We Mourn (McGill-Queens UP), a critical study on elegies, and a novel titled To Whom It May Concern (Doubleday). Uppal teaches at York University in Toronto.
