Roland Penner

Born in Winnipeg in 1924, Roland Penner has made a significant impact in Manitoba as a lawyer, a law professor, and a member of the provincial cabinet, serving as Attorney General, Minister Responsible for Constitutional Affairs, and, briefly, Minister of Education. He was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2000, being cited for his contribution to the administration of and access to justice. His colourful life is the subject of his memoir, A Glowing Dream (JG Shillingford), which was recognized with the Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award at the 2008 Manitoba Book Awards. Roland Penner lives in Winnipeg.
