Uma Parameswaran

Uma Parameswaran was born in Madras and grew up in Jabalpur. She came to the US as a Fulbright Scholar, receiving an MA in Creative Writing from Indiana University and a PhD in English from Michigan State University. A poet, playwright, and fiction writer, as well as a critic and anthologist, her many titles include Sisters at the Well, The Forever Banyan Tree, and What Was Always Hers, a Canadian Authors’ Association Jubilee Award winner. Her new release, A Cycle of the Moon (TSAR), is a sweeping family saga. Parameswaran, an English professor at the University of Winnipeg, has lived in Winnipeg since 1966.
